Father Daughter Surf Trip
We did it all: zip-lining, waterfalling, snorkeling, exploring, hanging with the locals in their bars and restaurants, Pinto de Gallo at every breakfast (yummy), fresh filet of Corvina at every dinner caught within hours of service, beach combing, reading, sightseeing, shopping, relaxing in a safe, secure, and spotlessly clean environment. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the surfing! We surfed 12 out of thirteen mornings in varying sizes ranging from knee to 3 feet overhead. (The morning we didn't surf, we had driven down and spent the night in Dominical to explore and snorkle a coral reef without our surfboards)
Of the 12 mornings we surfed, each was a two to three hour session with many times just myself, my daughter, and another friend trading sets waves and hooting. There were times when I would watch my 22 year old daughter ride a wave for 400 meters from the back and then strain my eyes to see this little ant paddling back out along the sandbars! What a wave and what an experience. How can they say that surfing is not cardio-friendly! My daughter and I were alone but we never felt that way. The house sits in the middle of a stone walled and gated, 7ish acre parcel of land covered with fruit trees and coconut palms right at the mouth (Boca) of the Barranca river. You would think that we would feel a little alone and vulnerable but to the contrary there were two gardner/maintenance men there all day (Eduardo and Alex) and Humberto walking the ground all night. Safe as can be! As the locals say everywhere we went; "Pura Vida"

Awesome Experience!
This home and location are, as you can probably see from the website, simply awesome! We’ve shied away from Mexico for various reasons but found CR to be the perfect alternative and this location and gated residence a real find. The beach is beautiful, somewhat secluded but very safe. As a surfer, there is no better left-break in the world, without having to travel to Indo. The time my wife and I spent on the large porch watching the waves, wild life and sipping wine will be with us forever. The residence is high-end construction and secure with helpful guys maintaining the grounds and residences.
This home is on it’s own 1/2 acre with no direct neighbors so the views are stellar. The restaurants in town are good and we frequented them often, the activities near town are world-class (kayak, horse riding, zip-line etc)...there is even an indoor soccer field for evening entertainment. But we spent most of our time in the home, on the porch, BBQ’ing and loving life. Highly recommend.

SUPER-RAD PLACE TO STAY!!!!!
I have stayed at this house several times. IT IS COMPLETELY AWESOME! It is really spacious and well-built. Beautiful teak ceilings and mouldings. A dining room table that must weight a ton made from a solid piece of hard-wood. On the balcony, the breeze lulls you to sleep as you watch ridiculously long lefts break accross the bay. The grounds have many fruit trees, the sunsets over the Nicoya penninsula are INCREDIBLE from the balcony and the wave (on a good south swell) goes 600-700 Meters! The rockin' town of Punterenas is a 7 minute cab-ride away. There is a REALLY COOL zipline canopy tour a half hour away. The owners of the house even set me up with their friend who does tours and he got me a discount on the canopy tour and drove me and my friends there! A crappy hotel will cost you $25-$50 per night. Get a few friends and book this place. (Just not in July because that's when I'm going back) It would be a deal at twice the price!!! Thanks Henry, John and Dennis for so many good times at your lovely house.
