"Kind, Gentle Spirit"
Created for the Santa Barbara Art Association's Grandparent Portrait Show, this piece was given the Best of Show Award for "its prowess and use of space" according to the SB Newspress. It recieved 'Best in Show' in a contest with over 400 other entries.
'I wanted to make a piece that was calming in a similar way to air around grandpa, who is a very quiet & seemingly relaxed person. This piece is being cast and will be available in both fired clay and bronze soon.
It was a beautiful three-dimensional form, and being able to view his interpretation from three dimensions was and amazing experience. He is really an exceptional artist.
